Philanthropic Events

Building Community Beyond the Classroom

At Cedar Crest Academy, we want our students to embody our Ten Pillars of Character Education and create deeper connections to the communities that they live in. Through philanthropic opportunities our students learn how their behaviors, actions and values can be rooted in kindness, fairness and empathy to people beyond our immediate Cedar Crest community. Our goal is to take our students beyond the classroom and school setting so they can foster deeper understandings when we discuss ideas of community, team work, collaboration, and responsibility.

Pre-Primary

At the Pre-Primary level,  our Directors and teachers organize fundraisers and various opportunities where students and families can come together and raise funds or provide supplies for our local and international communities. By involving our parents in our philanthropic events, parents can model the character education we teach at school and students can witness the importance of philanthropy in their school and home environment.

Elementary

As students enter our elementary program, they apply the Ten Pillars of Character Education through their daily interactions within the school and through community events outside school.  Our students help guide us in applying their character traits to external events such as hosting and participating in the events listed below or they develop their own method of giving back to the community.

  • Toy Drives
  • Smile Train
  • Student Organized Activities (raising money for Ukraine, selling cookbooks for non-profit organizations, selling art, and more)
