Calendars

Cedar Crest is open year-round with two separate sessions, a School Year and Summer Session.  Our School Year begins the day after Labor Day and ends on June 30th. Our Summer Session runs through July and August and offers more of a "summer camp" type experience. We continue to use themed curricula with a less academic focus, allowing us to engage in fun, active learning activities while also enjoying the beautiful summer weather.

School Year and Summer calendars are carefully planned by our staff to include a variety of activities and enrichment for our students. The Park Highland and Kirkland campuses share the same School-Year calendar, while each campus enjoys its own distinct activities during the Summer Session.

School Year and Summer calendars are distributed well in advance to help you plan family vacations, alternative child-care, etc. These calendars are available for viewing and printing using the links on this page.

Hours of Operation & Holidays

Cedar Crest Academy's hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Please remember that children can be left in school for a maximum of 10 hours per day, though we encourage families to spend as much quality time together as possible.

Cedar Crest Academy is closed on the following days:

  • New Year's Day
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • President's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday
  • Veteran's Day
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day

Additionally, we are closed for ten days during Winter Break (two of these days are Teacher Inservice days), and one week in April for Spring Break. We are also closed for two Teacher in-service days before the start of each new School Year. Please see the School Year Calendar for specific closure dates.

For weather-related closures and late-starts, Cedar Crest's Park Highland Campus follows the Bellevue School District and our Kirkland Campus follows Lake Washington School District. Please refer to these school districts' announcements during times of inclement weather. A "late start" made by either of these school districts results in a 10:00 a.m. start time for the corresponding Cedar Crest campus.
